Internship Program

Introduction

We think of our Internship Program as a crash course in what it is like to be a Dubai Petroleum Establishment employee. Interns receive 2-4 months project-based work experience with us, culminating in a presentation of what they have learnt and discovered from their particular project topic. For us, it provides an opportunity to see potential recruits in action, to fully assess them against real tasks and targets, and to monitor their performance.

Objectives

The internship aims to:

• Give interns a realistic view of the work environment.
• Transfer basic project management and time management skills.
• Stay in contact with students who are likely candidates for employment at Dubai Petroleum Establishment once they have graduated.
• Establish strong, lasting relationships with higher education institutions.

Eligibility

Student must:

• be a UAE National
• Be enrolled in a college or university at undergraduate or postgraduate level, having completed a minimum of two academic years.
• Have a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.

Timings

Internships are available all year round and last between 2-4 months, dependent on the college or university requirement and student timing.

Location

All internships are based in Dubai Petroleum Establishment’s main office in Jumeira, with trips offshore or to the Jebel Ali Offshore Support Base, as required for the completion of the project.
