University Scholarship

Introduction

We are looking for ambitious, gifted university undergraduates to secure the future of the energy industry by taking up a degree subject that is related to Oil and Gas. By planning ahead, we want to secure exceptional individuals, who are ready and waiting in the 'talent pipeline' and who will later take on a role, possibly within Dubai Petroleum Establishment. As well as receiving funding, scholarship students also have the opportunity to take up an internship during their studies, and will be offered a permanent job on graduation.

Objectives

Dubai Petroleum Establishment's strategic alliance with higher education institutions means that more deserving students have the chance to succeed and to excel.

The University Scholarship Program aims to:

• Support undergraduate students who have shown an aptitude for engineering and are making satisfactory progress towards completion of a Bachelor or Diploma Degree
• Ensure that promising students have the financial backing to complete their degree
• Find a permanent job for graduating students.

Eligibility

Applicant must be:

• A UAE National
• A full-time undergraduate engineering or geosciences student in the fields of Chemical-, Mechanical-, Petroleum-, Electronic- and Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Geology and Petro Physics.
• Hold a General Secondary School Certificate with a score of not less than 80 per cent.
• Completed a first semester of study at university and have a GPA of at least 3.0 out of a possible 4.0
• IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 500..

• A bi-annual stipend of twelve thousand dirhams for the first year student, with an increment of three thousand dirhams for each successfully complete year (set at a maximum bi-annual stipend of twenty-four thousand dirhams).
• A formal internship with Dubai Petroleum Establishment.
• A permanent job on graduation with the company..

Timings

For Fall Semester applicants, applications run from mid-September to the end of October each year.

For Winter Semester applicants, applications run from mid-February to the end of March.
