April 1963	The Continental National Oil Company is granted the concession to initiate the exploration of oil in the offshore area of the Dubai Emirate by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum
1966	Oil is discovered in the Fateh field (the oil-field is personally named by His Highness)
1969	A problem is resolved: how to store oil in the shallow waters of the Fateh field – Building the Khazzans The first tanker of oil is exported from the Fateh field
1970	South West Fateh oil field Discovered
1972	Falah oil field Discovered
1973	Rashid oil field Discovered
1986	The 2,500th tanker is loaded offshore.
1988	Fateh and South West Fateh are recognised as 'giant' oil-fields with cumulative production exceeding 2 billion barrels of oil
1990	Another major success is marked by the company's first horizontal well
2007	His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum render Dubai Petroleum Establishment's total assets as government-owned.
2008	Dubai Petroleum Establishment's 45th anniversary as an oil producer and main contributor to the evolution of Dubai's offshore assets.
Today	Dubai Petroleum Establishment is focusses on using the latest technology to maintain its existing resources as well as explore for future oil and gas reserves both onshore and offshore.
